The Largest Warship in the Sol System, and a symbol of Martian dread and supremacy across UN and OPA armies, no other warship resonates with hopelessness in battle, than a Donnager Class Battleship.
Meaning "Thunderer" in German, The Donnager class lives up to this, by being extremely well armed with a mass of torpedoes enough to turn an entire moon into glowing slag, the Donnager Class proves not to fail in CQB either, carrying two turreted Gauss Railguns, The ability of these railguns to rotate as a turret makes it into a deadly weapons platform, giving it an effective kill range of 5 kilometers. The Donnager is not to be trifled with in attacks, carrying over sixteen point defence cannons (PDCs) along its hull to defend it from incoming projectiles. Defense capabilities even extend inside, carrying several Martian Marines in powered armour to repel boarders, and in some cases, can carry a compliment of Martian Reconnaissance Corps Marines, in Goliath Series Power Armour, noted as the deadliest fighting force in Sol.

The Donnager class, like most, if not all starships in the system, is built in the standard "office block" configuration, in which the decks and floors of the ship are built parallel to the engines, so that the occupants feet are in the same direction as the engines, allowing the ship to generate linear gravity through high G thrust.

Donnager Class Vessels carry a large hangar capable of accepting many shuttles and light craft with its expansive series' of hangar arms, but most commonly these hangars are full with smaller Martian Warships, like the Corvette-Class Light Frigate, or the Scipio Africanus Class Frigate, each holding PDCs and Torpedo launchers of their own, allowing for a single Donnager Class Vessel to hold a venerable flotilla or escort fleet within its hull.

One Donnager Class vessel will go down in human history, for its part in the Protomolecule tale, the name type of the Class; MCRN Donnager.
After the Pur N' Kleen Ice water Hauler Canterbury was destroyed by nuke-wielding Stealth Ships,the survivors aboard the Hauler's shuttle Knight, and the Donnager was dispatched in response to pick up the craft, being part of the nearby 8th Saturn Fleet. After picking up the Knight, the Donnager tracked six ships approaching from the Belt on a fast burn. As the interrogation of the Knight's crew continued, the six ships arrived in range of the Donnager, and opened fire. XO of the Canterbury James "Jim" Holden identified the scans of the ships as the same as those that destroyed the Cant, and the Donnager returned fire, whilst keeping her PDCs active.
The Donnager killed one ship with its torpedoes, and the rest of them approached. Holden and his crew were placed within a secure room for protection, but this proved little too good, as these tiny ships, maybe a quarter of the Donnager's size, carried railguns, that penetrated the room and killed Holden's Medic, Shed Garvey. The Donnager suffered several through and throughs, but these meant one thing - The ships had moved in so close to use railguns, so the Donnager could use hers. They were in the kill box. Two more ships went down nearly instantly, but more railguns shells disabled the Donnager's, and the three remaining Stealth Ships moved in on the Donnager.

Martian Marines quickly secured Holden and his remaining crew, and escorted them to the hangars. The Stealth Ships had offloaded boarders, and the Marines were working overtime to secure the Engineering decks crucial to a ships survival. The remaining Marine compliment got Holden's crew to the frigate Tachi, suffering heavy losses. Martian pilot of the Cant, Alex Kamal took the Tachi out of the ship, and eliminated the rest of the assailants, before leaving the Donnager just before the attackers reached the Engineering Deck, and Captain Theresa Yao self-destroys the colossal warships nuclear reactor, and destroyed all the ships, allowing the MCRN Tachi to escape with Holden and crew aboard.
